Wedding photography, my family and exploring nature are my passions. They bring me joy and show me what life is all about!
We love Sarah and Sean and their wedding at Great Oak Manor! Working with Sarah both as a colleague (she is part of the amazing team at Well Dunn Catering) over the past several years and then as a bride is an absolute honor. I first met her through Margo of Bright Occasions wedding planning when we all a part of the wedding vendor team at Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington DC. When Sarah contacted me about her own wedding I was super excited! It is always an honor to work with industry friends! We captured their engagement session downtown Annapolis and had a blast planning for the wedding.
Like my husband and I, Sarah and Sean remember different times when they first met. I remember first seeing my husband when a mutual friend brought me to his concert, and he remembers first seeing me at a happy hour. Here is Sarah and Sean’s story in their own words:
“There’s some debate as to when we first met. Sarah swears it was at an Erg Sprint, perched in the bleachers above a gymnasium in an Alexandria high school. Sean distinctly remembers a conversation of some sort over a hot dog roller at a concession stand. Regardless of who’s right, we became fast friends, chatting constantly about everything under the sun. When Sean graduated and went to college in upstate New York, we eventually fell out of touch, and wouldn’t reconnect until years later, when Sarah plucked up the courage to write Sean a letter saying that she still thought about him. A shot of tequila and a strange voicemail later, we picked up almost exactly where we left off, making each other laugh about work, classes, family, and (most importantly) dogs. Our first date was a Lumineers concert on a hot summer night in late July, and we officially started dating a day later. The distance wasn’t easy, but we made it work, with Sean driving down on Friday afternoons to visit, and Sarah occasionally flying up to Rochester on holiday weekends. In the years we’ve been together, Sean would decamp from the frozen north and move back to Maryland, Sarah would graduate college and flee Northern Virginia, and Murphy would escape from someone’s yard, make his way to a shelter, and charm his way into our lives.”
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Great Oak Manor on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in late July. It was a typical July day in Maryland, but an extraordinary event was taking place! The day was filled with stunning details, lots of cute kids, hugs, tears, DELICIOUS food and a great party. Sarah coordinated an amazing team of professions to create a dream wedding. I absolutely love these two and am overjoyed to call them friends. Congratulations!
