Wedding photography, my family and exploring nature are my passions. They bring me joy and show me what life is all about!
Hayley and Will are my dear friends who chose to have their wedding at the beautiful Chesapeake Bay Beach Club on Kent Island. They prepped for the big day in Annapolis, then headed over the Bay Bridge in style in a vintage Rolls-Royce! They incorporated many family heirlooms into the decor, along with original artwork from the bride. Hayley wore her mom’s shoes from her wedding and will wore his brother’s shirt. The show stopper was the book arch brought to life by Willow Oak Farm which framed the couple for the ceremony.
Each shelf housed photos and favorite reads of family members who had passed away. Hayley read a letter her dad had written to her before he passed. A tribute to Will’s brother was featured on the arch as well.
One of my favorite moments was the first look! The raw emotion was so beautiful and authentic. They wed overlooking the Bay at sunset and enjoyed oysters and live music to celebrate!
“Our vision for our wedding day focused on incorporating details that were unique to us as individuals and as a couple. The centerpiece of our ceremony (aside from the personally written, heartfelt vows) was a book arch that we constructed together alongside the dear friend who first introduced us. Both sides of the arch included special mementos of ours, including photos of loved ones that are no longer with us. We shared our love of reading with our guests via personalized bookmark escort cards. While our dogs couldn’t join in the celebration, they were on fans that we provided to guests during the ceremony, as well as on cocktail napkins. Our goal in incorporating details like these was to reflect who we are as individuals, and who we are as a newly married couple.”
“Our biggest desire for our wedding day was to be truly present in mind, body, and spirit, together and surrounded by our loved ones. While the preparations were fun, we were SO excited to get to the first look and finally see each other. Any anxiety we had about the day dissipated, and we got to be present in each and every moment together. We were driven over to the venue in a vintage car separate from our wedding party, and it was amazing to have a few moments together before the ceremony. We worked together to craft the ceremony script and selected readings that were particularly meaningful to us — focusing on the importance of friendship in marriage. We were so fortunate to have so many friends and family join in the celebration, and we loved getting to dance the night away with them! The day served as a reminder that love offers joy, laughter, and solace to those who seek it.”
