US Naval Academy Chapel Weddings

Any time of year weddings at the USNA Chapel are breathtaking.  We have been photographing weddings at the Chapel for close to ten years now.  The strict rules and regulations are to keep things running smoothly and maintain respect for the sacrament taking place.  They can host up to 6 marriage ceremonies per day, with limited time following for any photos after the ceremony.  Both Maria and I keep up to date forms with background checks active with the Academy every year so we are all set when your wedding day arrives.

• We arrive 30 minutes prior to your ceremony start time.
• Photographers must stay behind the break in pews at all times.  Flash is only permitted during the processional and recessional.
• Kate remains on the main level while Maria stays in the choir loft for minimal movement throughout the ceremony.
• Immediately following the ceremony, the couple heads up to the choir loft while the guests exit the chapel.
• With just a few seconds before exiting for the sword salute, Kate takes one photo down the aisle:

• If there are no other weddings following yours, we have a few minutes for family portraits at the altar.  Most often, we just head to the Superintendent’s Gardens for our portraits with immediate families, then around the Academy grounds with the wedding party.
